After Care

1. We recommend waiting a minimum of 2 hours before removing the wrapping to clean the tattooed area. Please wash your hands before you remove any bandage/wrap and after you have disposed of any bandaging.

2. After washing your hands, use warm, mildly soapy water to clean your tattoo and the area around it of any excess ink, plasma or ointment. Once clean, make sure you've rinsed away all soap before drying. Pat the tattoo and surrounding area dry with a clean towel and allow to air dry for a few minutes.

We recommend any antibacterial soap to clean the tattoo.

3. Remove backing off the patch provided. Take care as the patch will stick to itself if you're not careful. If the patch does stick to itself, carefully attempt to pull apart. If you have someone that can help you apply the patch it will be a lot easier. Please make sure they've washed their hands before assisting.

4. Apply patch to dried tattooed area. Aim to apply centre of the patch first as your patch has been sized to leave roughly a 1-2cm gap around the edges of the tattoo.

5. Leave your patch on for 7 days (or as directed by Nat). Some goo may seep through over the first few days. This is normal. The patch is washable and you will be able to clean your tattoo while wearing the patch. We recommend cleaning your tattoo twice a day (morning and night) for the first 3 days and then at least once a day while your patch is on.

Nat recommends wearing clean, loose fit clothes, fresh bedding and sleepwear to help in the prevention of infections. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, swimming or baths. If the patch starts to peel, resist pulling it off further and leave it on for the remaining time.

The patch provided uses a hypoallergenic adhesive. If any irritations occurs, notify us for instructions. (If you need to remove the patch early, use the instructions below). It is normal to get mildly itchy towards the final days.

6. After 7 days, remove the patch by soaking in water and slowly pulling away from edges. It is still going to be very sticky and maybe hard to take off. The patch has helped your tattoo heal over the past week and your new tattoo will continue to settle and heal over the next 4 weeks. Apply your cream of choice daily for 2 weeks and then as needed.

If your new tattoo needs touching up, please send a photo of the healed tattoo along with a description of what needs to be done.

Nat guarantees all her work and the first touch up is included within the first 6 months of the tattoo being completed as long as you have followed these care instructions.
